Say “Hello Linux” – Most Usual Basic Linux Commands for Newbies

Linux is an Open source Operating system. It was a more flexible Operating System. Is Linux not familiar with newbies? and they can’t Understand How to Start? What is the point?. The point is they think Linux is hard to learn. Why do they think like that? The reason is if you want to feel with Linux?. you might learn how to work with the Linux command-line interface. Today I’m gonna show you some basic Linux Commands and I think you can get an idea to start with Linux in today’s post. Let’s Begin.

What is Linux?

Linus Torvalds is the Who was founded Linux Kernel and develop a Linux Operating system. Now today you can see more various Linux distributions for various works. like Ubuntu Linux, Kali Linux, and more Distributions.

Let’s check out some basic commands.

“ls” Command

In the Unix like systems. Will used this command to list computer files. “ls” is some Main of Basic Linux command you should know how to use, To familiar with Linux Command Line Interface. let’s check out this command.

Open up your terminal window and type “ls” and hit enter now you can see everything in your current working directory. in feature post, I will talk everything about ls command and how to use it with basic to advanced.

“pwd” Command

This Command will prompt your current working directory. simply type pwd and hit enter once, now you can see what is your current directory.

“help” Command

If you’re a beginner, help command is the way to learn everything about Linux basic to advance level. once you type help in your terminal window and hit the enter key, then you can see all of Linux terminal commands.

help

“man” Command

man means manuals this is an another basic most usual Linux Command to every user. this command will provide Linux Commands/ Utility/ Programs man pages or manual pages. these pages are including everything about that commands. both including usage options and other information. think if you need to see ls command manual pages. then you simply type man ls. now you can see ls manual page.

man ls

“cd Command”

cd means change directory. that means this command will change our current working directory to what we need to change. if you need to change your current working directory you can use cd <path> path means what is the destination/ what is the target directory. for the example. I wanna change my current directory to etc directory. Now I’m open up my terminal window and type cd /etc/. Now you can see your current working directory has been changed to the /etc/ directory. etc is a root directory in Linux we use / to specify root directories. in the future lessons, I will explain about that.
